Harmonies Exhibit" will be in Historic Inalahan. This
celebration of American Roots Music examines the growth of American
music, with instruments that vary from fiddles to banjos, from accordions
to drums.
The origins of the sounds from many heritages merge into new harmonies.
Learn how this ongoing cultural process has made America the birthplace
of such great music as spirituals, blues, jazz, and country music. As
you tour this exhibit in selected historic buildings in Inalahan,
you will see how our Chamorro culture has borrowed and contributed,
to make Chamorro
Country music, Kantan Chamorrita, and Belembaotuyan sounds. Each
of our southern Guam schools and communities will contribute to the
exhibit through live performances and stories.
November 10, 2007: Estorian I Taotao Tano' - Stories of the People of the Land.
