CULTURAL CRAFTS ACTIVITIES
9 am – 12 noon or 12 to 3 pm
A VISIT TO Gef Pa’go Chamorro Cultural Village will take you back in time, to the way of life in a Chamorro Community of the early 1900s. Gef Pa’go has crafts masters who will proudly teach groups about Chamorro crafts and folkways.
Daily Price: $8 for students age 6 – 18, including all materials $13 for adults, including all materials 1 free chaperone/adult helper per 10 participants
We advise that all groups choose in advance from the following crafts, 1st & 2nd choice. Limit of 10 maximum per crafts instructor.
Weaving coconut leaf headbands, and katupat (rice lunch bags) if time permits Weaving pandanus bird or fish Making a necklace from pagu fiber cord with pendant of seashell or other object Cleaning and polishing a coconut shell for cup or bowl Making a coconut shell lable with wooden handle Carving and decorating a dancing stick (Tunas) Husking, grating and making coconut candy Grinding corn and making titiyas Participants will be able to take home with them a completed craft or food item. Participants will work on their first craft for about 1 hour. Break 15 minutes to walk around and visit all the activities, gift shop, etc.
Participants will work on their 2nd craft for about 1 hour. Break for lunch.
A daily lunch plate is available to order in advance from our Kusinan Gadao kitchen: Chamorro style crispy fried chicken with rice and salad is their specialty, but they change their menu each day. Drinks are extra. Take-out lunch: $5 Special Fiesta lunches may be ordered in advance: $8 adult and $5 child.
